    <ns1:description language="sr">U kliničkoj praksi je primećeno da izvestan broj pacijenata, bez klasičnih faktora rizika za koronarnu arterijsku bolest (KAB), ima značajne promene na koronarnim arterijama, te je neophodno utvrditi da li i drugi faktori rizika mogu doprineti njenom nastanku i progresiji. Cilj studije je ispitivanje povezanosti markera inflamacije, endotelne disfunkcije i metabolizma homocisteina sa stepenom težine koronarne arterijske bolesti kod pacijenata sa stabilnom anginom pektoris. Uključeno je 123 ispitanika podeljenih u ispitivanu (pacijenti sa dokazanom KAB) i kontrolnu
grupu (pacijenti bez simptoma i znakova KAB). Pratili smo vrednosti različitih
inflamacijskih markera: sedimentacija, broj leukocita, C reaktivni protein,
interleukin 6, fibrinogen. Takođe smo određivali homocistein, fon Vilebrandov
faktor, inhibitor aktivatora plazminogena, D dimer, VIII faktor koagulacije i NTproBNP-a. Ispitanicima ocenjenim kao pozitivni za ishemijsku bolest srca urađena je
koronarografija radi utvrđivanja stepena težine KAB prema SINTAKS I skoru i
kliničkom SINTAKS skoru. Određivana je debljina kompleksa intime-medije (IMK)
karotidnih arterija čije su vrednosti korelisane sa stepenom težine KAB. Rezultati
istraživanja su pokazali značajnu povezanost SINTAKS I i kliničkog SINTAKS
skora sa povišenim vrednostima inflamacijskih markera, homocisteina, fon
Vilebrandovog faktora, VIII faktora koagulacije i NT-proBNP-a. Rezultati našeg
istraživanja su pokazali da vrednosti homocisteina i inflamacijskih markera
koreliraju sa IMK, koji predstavlja marker sistemske ateroskleroze. Povišene
vrednosti ispitivanih parametara mogu biti koristan prognostički pokazatelj razvoja
teže kliničke slike kod pacijenata sa KAB.</ns1:description>
    <ns1:description language="en">During clinical practice, we have found that certain number of patients, without traditional risk factors for coronary artery disease (CAD), had significant changes of coronary arteries. Thus, it is necessary to determine if some other risk factors may contribute to the formation and progression of CAD. Aim of the clinical study is to determine correlation between inflammation
markers, endothelial dysfunction and metabolism of homocysteine with the severity of CAD in
patients with stabile angina. Study included 123 subjects divided into two groups: the cases
(patients with proven CAD) and the controls (patients without symptoms and signs of CAD).
We have monitored values of a different inflammation markersr: erythrocyte sedimentation
rate, leukocyte count, C reactive protein, interleukin 6, fibrinogen and homocysteine, von
Willebrand factor, plasminogen activator inhibitor, D dimer, coagulation factor VIII and Nterminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP). Subjects assessed as positive for CAD
underwent coronory angiography in order to determine severity of CAD according to SYNTAX
score I and clinical SYNTAX score. Also, measured values of carotid artery intima-media
complex thickness (IMT) were correlated with a severity of CAD. Results showed significant
correlation between SYNTAX I and clinical SYNTAX score with higher values of
inflammatory markers, homocysteine, von Willebrand factor, VIII factor and NT-proBNP. Our
results revealed that homocysteine and inflammatory markers correlate with higher IMT, which
represents systemic atherosclerosis marker. Higher values of tested parameters can be useful
prognostic indicator for more severe clinical presentation in patients with CAD.</ns1:description>
