Uvod: Sportisti bez obzira na vrstu sporta, posebno profesionalni, kako bi
optimizovali svoje fizičke performanse uz adekvatne treninge moraju da imaju i
adekvatnu ishranu. Trenutno u fokusu naučnih istraživanja je suplemetacija
različitim aktivnim jedinjenjima izolovanim iz biljaka. Budući da su blagotvorni
efekti primene polifenola na organizam već istraživani, pokazano je da je glavni
mehanizam ovog delovanja inhibicija oksidacionog stresa.
Cilj: Uzimajući u obzir da su sportisti u posebnom riziku za nastanak oksidacionoh
stresa usled velikih fizičkih napora osnovni cilj ove studije bio je upravo da ispita
na koji način tromesečna primena soka od aronije (bogatog polifenolima) utiče na
oksidacioni stres, telesnu kompoziciju, osnovne biohemijske parametre i hormonski
status. Dodatan cilj ovog istraživanja bio je da se utvrdi da li su ovi efeketi polno
zavisni.
Metode: U istraživanju je učestvovalo 40 profesionalnih sportista, podeljenih u 4 grupe (n=10), postojale su dve kontrolne (oba pola) i dve eksperimentalne grupe (oba pola). Ispitanici u eksperimentalnim grupama su tokom tri meseca koristili per os koncentrovani sok od aronije, dok su ostali koristili placebo. Na početku i kraju eksperimentalnog protokola sprovedena su sva merenja od interesa (telesna kompozicija, funkcionalna ispitivanja, analiza masnokiselinskog sastava plazme,
redoks i hormonski status, krvna slika).
Rezultati: Tromesečna konzumacija koncentrovanog soka od aronije kod sportista
muškog pola unapredila je telesnu kompoziciju, krvnu sliku, povećala vrednosti
relativne i apsolutne potrošnje kiseonika i regulisala redoks i lipidni status. Sa
druge strane, efekti u grupi sportistkinja su bili dosta blaži. Tromesečna
konzumacija koncentrovanog soka od aronije kod sportista ženskog pola je u najvećoj
meri uticala na krvnu sliku i redoks status.</ns1:description>
    <ns1:description language="en">Introduction: Athletes regardless of the type of sport, especially professional ones, in order to optimize their physical performance, in addition to adequate training, they must also have adequate nutrition. Currently, the focus of scientific research is the supplementation with
various active compounds isolated from plants. Since the beneficial effects of polyphenols on
the body have already been investigated, it has been shown that the main mechanism of this
action is the inhibition of oxidative stress.
Objective: Considering that athletes are at special risk for oxidative stress due to great physical
effort, the main goal of this study was to examine how quarterly application of chokeberry juice
(rich in polyphenols) affects oxidative stress, body composition, basic biochemical parameters and hormonal status. An additional goal of this study was to determine whether these effects were gender-dependent.
Methods: The study involved 40 professional athletes, divided into 4 groups (n = 10), there
were two control (both gender) and two experimental groups (both gender). Subjects in the
experimental groups used per os concentrated chokeberry juice for three months, while the
others used placebo. At the beginning and end of the experimental protocol, all measurements
of interest were performed (body composition, functional tests, analysis of plasma fatty acid
composition, redox and hormonal status, blood count).
Results: Three-month consumption of concentrated chokeberry juice in male athletes
improved body composition, blood count, increased values of relative and absolute oxygen
consumption and regulated redox and lipid status. On the other hand, the effects in the group
of athletes were much milder. Three-month consumption of concentrated chokeberry juice in
female athletes had the greatest impact on blood counts and redox status.</ns1:description>
